Disney jars by the maker
The Disney jars here come from licensed makers. Enesco makes the Mickey Mouse jar in the bright pop-art style of Romero Britto, a jar printed with classic film posters and a Jack Skellington, and Silver Buffalo makes a glass jar with Lilo & Stitch on a tropical print. Stitch also does a handstand on a ceramic jar from Zrike Brands.
These are display pieces as much as storage. The ceramic ones are hand-painted and ask to be washed by hand, and a figure on the lid makes the lid heavy, so lift it with both hands. A jar like this is the gift for the fan who already has the mug.
These 6 jars are part of the Cookie Jar catalog, $37.99 to $60.00 at the last catalog update, so you can set a budget before you pick a shape.
Questions
Disney cookie jars: what people ask
Are Disney cookie jars safe for food?
Each card prints what the maker lists. A licensed jar sold for the kitchen is made for food; a piece marked for decoration only is not, and the FDA requires such pieces to say so on the base. Turn the jar over before you fill it.
How do you clean a hand-painted Disney cookie jar?
By hand, with warm water and a soft cloth. A dishwasher dulls hand-painted color, and the maker of these jars does not list them as dishwasher safe.
