    About this jar

An apothecary jar for the bathroom or the bakery shelf

This Modern Innovations jar has the rounded eggplant outline of an old apothecary jar, made in thick acrylic that looks like glass but will not shatter. The gallon size stands about 10 inches tall and 7 inches wide, and the 40 ounce one about 8.5 inches tall and 5 inches wide. Both have a 5 inch opening, so your hand fits in either.

A rubber gasket lines the lid, and the maker describes the fit as airtight, so cookies and pantry snacks stay out of the open air. You can just as well fill it with bath salts, seashells or cotton balls and set it on a bathroom vanity. It also works as a wedding centerpiece filled with candy.

If the Modern Innovations jar at $25.99 is the wrong size or shape for your counter, the acrylic cookie jars shelf has 12 more from the Cookie Jar collection.
